1 Why we need protective gas for QCW laser head?
Protecting gas in laser welding is not simply about preventing oxidation.It directly determines the success or failure of welding from the beginning of energy transmission to the end of weld formation.If titanium alloy welding is not protected, the weld seam will turn blue and brittle, making it prone to cracking.When deep welding stainless steel, if the laser equipment does not use protective gas, it will cause a sudden decrease in penetration and incomplete welding.It can significantly reduce porosity and optimize shielding gas in aluminum alloy welding.In actual production, the most commonly used protective gases are argon (Ar), helium (He), and nitrogen (N ₂).
2 How to maximize the effect of protection gas for laser welding?
The effectiveness of the protective gas is determined by its flow rate, nozzle structure, and blowing angle.If the protective gas is used improperly, it will reduce the welding quality rather than improve it.If the protective gas flow rate is too low, the protection will be insufficient and the weld will oxidize and discolor.When the flow rate is too high, it may cause undercutting and dents.If the blowing angle is not appropriate, it may not effectively cover high-temperature areas and interfere with welding stability.
3 Off-axis adjustable design of the laser head.
The blowing device is installed on the side of the laser welding head. It is a protective gas conveying device that can freely adjust the angle and position. It is specifically designed to accurately control airflow in complex working conditions and improve weld quality.
It can adjust the spray angle, horizontal and vertical positions, and distance from the working height of the protective gas. It has the characteristics of adapting to complex joints, finely controlling the melt pool, and avoiding lens contamination.
